Day 7 … Joyful

Day 7 … Joyful

Today’s prompt is what brings you joy. ¬†I could have taken the easy way out and just listed each person in my family including the pup but I didn’t. ūüôā

  • My family – of course they are my #1. ¬†They are the ones I can’t live¬†without and the one’s that bring a smile to my face each and every day. ¬†Even Brutus who isn’t in the picture ;).
  • God – my faith always seems to be my saving grace. ¬†If I am having a bad day or just need something uplifting I turn to the Bible or a Bible study.
  • Rain – I love the rain. ¬†I love the smell of rain and could literally sit and watch ran for hours.
  • softball/baseball – my first love. ¬†I have played the game since I was 4 and still play to this day. ¬†It is my safe place
  • reading – I hated reading growing up, however, the older I have gotten the more I love to read. ¬†I love being drawn into a good book and taken to a place I have never been before.

What brings you joy?

Today I am linking up with The Writeous Reflection blog and the topic for the month of April is Joy!

Writeous Reflections

Joy comes in many different stages.  Most people think of joy in good times that come:

  • finding God
  • First tooth
  • first boyfriend/girlfriend
  • wedding
  • kids
  • grandkids
  • getting straight A’s
  • getting a puppy

Now, what about those times of sadness or sorrow. ¬†There are so many times that we can find joy in any situation whether it is an easy or happy time or a sad darker time. I have to say with the passing of one of my good friends I found true joy in watching her parents get through this time. ¬†I am sure of course at first they were asking why and wondering how come their 28-year-old daughter was chosen. ¬†As I watched them at the funeral I was in awe. ¬†Although they were grieving and wanting their child back they thought more of all the positive things she had done in her life. ¬†Her church life, her friends, her family … they were all there to celebrate her life and talk about how much she impacted each and every one of us. ¬†She brought so much joy to each of our lives and the fact that each one of us could share how she impacted us says a lot more about her than anyone could ever imagine.

JAMES 1:2-3

2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
I cannot imagine a life without joy in it.  I know that I have learned a lot about myself in the past month and how I want to live my life and make sure that I impact others lives as my dear friend Erika did.  Joy comes in the easiest ways as well as the hardest ways.  Keep that faith strong and know that joy is always right around the corner in everything you do!
